Broken Arrows a Bronze Sculpture Allegory by James Muir

Cochise, Chief of the Chiricahua Apaches, in a sign of good faith
to a treaty of peace, “broke the arrow.” The U.S. Government, in
a sign of bad faith, broke the treaty – along with over 200 others
before and since. In the end, the U.S. Army’s Apache Scouts were
shipped to prison along the “hostiles.”
